Correct storage protects the integrity of your research materials. This is general laboratory context, not instructions for use in humans or animals.
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) vials
In lyophilized form, most research peptides are relatively stable, because freeze-drying removes the water that the main degradation routes depend on. General practice is to keep unopened vials cold and protected from light per the product documentation, and to avoid repeated temperature cycling, which stresses stability over time. Long-term storage is typically colder than short-term working storage.
Reconstituted material
Once a peptide is brought into solution, its usable life shortens considerably compared to the lyophilized powder.
